Over half of UK consumers would consider buying a tablet pc – such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab or Apple iPad
With the Samsung Galaxy Tab available to buy on Monday 1st November, and Apple expected to sell 12 million iPads by the end of the year, there has been extensive speculation about the impact the rise to prevalence of the tablet PC market may have on regular PC and netbook sales in coming years. Global sales of tablet PCs are expected to reach 19.5 million units in 2010 and are expected to rise by a further 181% to 54.8 million units by 2011, according to analyst firm Gartner. New research from Kelkoo, the online shopping comparison website, supports this projection and reveals that over half (54%) of UK consumers would consider buying a tablet computer, of which a third (33%) is planning to do so in the next six months, and with 35% of consumers claiming they would chose to buy a tablet PC over a laptop or netbook.

RIP my laptop…
Well, I suppose that in way it was bound to happen sometime, but I’m still a bit sad that my trusty laptop has finally died on me. It wasn’t the fanciest machine on the planet, and I’d had it for about five years so it certainly wasn’t exactly at the cutting-edge of technology, but it was mine and I loved it.
I had it all set up just the way I liked it, and it helped to see me through University and into my first proper job, We’d also done quite a lot of travelling together, and it had always served me well. So RIP little laptop – I’ll miss you…

Special Father’s Day gifts
Well, it’s that time of year again – time to start looking for Father’s day gifts…
My dad is an incredibly difficult person to buy gifts for. He doesn’t really have many hobbies, and the ones he does have, he has everything he needs to do them already. I really wish he played golf, as the shops are always crammed full of golfing accessories that would make an ideal gift.
So once again I’m forced to search around the Internet for Father’s Day gifts that he might like. It’s never easy, but I’m sure I’ll come up with something eventually…

Secrets to finding love
finding love can be a challenging and frightening prospect, especially if you have been out of the dating game for a while. When it comes down to it, it is all about training your mindset in order to avoid disappointment.
Firstly, try not to go out with the intention of meeting ‘the one’ every time. This way you will be less critical of people you meet and more open to widening your circle of prospective partners.
You should also try to wait longer before engaging in physical intimacy, letting a man know you are worth more. If he is genuinely interested he will be happy to wait.
Try not to be too obsessed with your appearance and treat people as you would want to be treated back. The way you act means far more than the way you look so always be aware of this.

A woman’s flirting-guide
So what are the basic rules a woman needs to follow when flirting with men? A fundamental rule of the flirting-guide is to know if he is flirting with you first. When men flirt they generally give off cues which show them exerting their masculinity, like laughing out loud, arching their back, puffing our their chests and making direct eye contact with you.
If you have picked up these signs then you are ready to make your approach. Start by making eye contact then drop your gaze. Smile suggestively – this is one of the most important things you can do to make yourself attractive to the opposite sex.
Once you have approached him or vice versa, start up a conversation. Laugh at his jokes but take care to glance away intermittently to avoid making him uncomfortable. Answer his questions but also avoid talking about yourself too much.

Make-up foundation – put your best face forward!
I have to admit, I am a woman who does not use much make-up. Part of my reluctance is the fear that if I increase my use of cosmetics, I am going to look more clownish than Cleopatra-like!
But the other day a friend of mine talked me into getting a make-over at a big store’s beauty department, and I have to say I came away with a lot of useful tips to increase my confidence, as well as numerous products suitable for my colouring and skin type.
One thing I learned was the importance of make-up foundation. Another good pointer was that if I am ever in doubt about a particular make-up technique, I can always find a suitable tutorial online. Now that’s one use I never thought of making of the Internet before!

Need a New Sony VAIO Battery Urgently
Technology – you can’t beat it when it works. However, let your batteries run out and it is a whole new world of frustration.
I’m currently suffering from a lack of charging with my laptop, meaning that I’m looking to buy a new Sony VAIO battery urgently.
As a reporter, the laptop has become a vital part of my kit. It means I can sit at a football match and upload copy directly to the sports desk in seconds – so much easier than the old days when you had to phone up the copydesk and read your report over the phone.
