House prices are set to rise soon
With the media constantly reporting the beginnings of an economic recovery, it’s good at last to know the property market is beginning to improve. Now that it’s getting back on its feet, there is the prospect that rising house prices will be in the news in the not too distant future.
There are so many factors which decide the cost of a particular home. Location is one of the most obvious, because it will always be more expensive to live in a particularly pleasant area. More subtle criteria can include proximity to railway stations, and the noise from local traffic.

London plays – read all about it!
London plays hit the headlines more often than you might imagine, given that it’s really only quite a small proportion of the UK population that ever make it down to the English capital to take their seat in the audience of a dramatic spectacle of one sort or another.
But it seems that the press are happy to feed us news of the latest triumphs or disasters and we are equally content to consume it. I suppose there are wide-ranging reasons for this – even if we don’t consider ourselves to have a great interest in all things thespian, we still like to hear how our favourite celebrities are faring against the challenge of treading the boards six nights a week, for better or worse!

Remember buy-to-let insurance
With the effects of the recession still hurting many businesses and individuals in Britian, these with buy-to-let holiday homes may be set for a bumper summer.
As financial woes kybosh family holidays abroad, the increase in family holidays exploring the UK is set to continue.
The phenomena has been given the rather terrible name of ‘staycation’ with holidays homes in the Lake District, West of Scotland and Isle of Wight all particularly popular with holiday makers.
With increased bookings likely, it is even more important to ensure that you have the necessary buy-to-let insurance in place for your property.
With that in sorted, you can relax over the summer months as the financial rewards flow in.

Johnston Press Plan More Cuts
It brings no pleasure to report that Johnston Press, one of the UK’s major newspaper publishers, is set to cull more jobs from across its roster of papers.
Johnston Press, who publish the Scotsman and the Yorkshire Evening Post as well as hundreds of local newspapers, have been one of the hardest hit in the recession due to the downturn in local advertising.
As the recession bit, local advertisers cut coasts by going online – especially the mainstays of local newspaper advertising such as used cars dealers and estate agents.
That saw advertising revenues cut drastically, and with the company seemingly clueless as to how to maximise the power of the web they appear to be going knowhere, I mean just look at the Scotsman’s terrible website.

Babbling Babel leads to Twitter Trouble
Twitter. It is everywhere.
Read the paper – particularly The Guardian – and you would be excused for thinking that stories about Twitter, and the millions who use it, are the only items worth reporting these days.
Most of the well-known faces on the site keep the really things fairly bland and manage not to spill the internal beans.
However, Liverpool “attacker” Ryan Babel is not that clever and recently got in to a fair bit of troublfrom his club Liverpool by “tweeting” about being dropped from the side.
Days later Manchester United released a statement saying that their players had effectively been banned from using the site.
You can see the clubs, and their respective managers’ concerns. howver banning a valuable social media tool seems a bit draconian.
