My dear mother was 50 last year, and I wanted to make sure she had a day to remember. I looked around for weeks to see what I could get her, and I was determined not to settle for the more usual gifts, such as flowers, chocolates and clothes. I think I came up with the best birthday present idea I’d ever had.
I bought her a token that entitled her and my dad to a top night in the West End of London, involving two tickets for a show and an overnight stay in one of the capital’s best hotels.

I’ve been looking into spa treatments recently, as my sister’s birthday is coming up and I want to give her a treatment for a present. She’s not a big fan of massages, which is the classic spa treatment, so I’ve had to do a little more research into what’s available in order to choose what I want to give her.
